Part One introduces APT Counseling Resources, including our Foundational Principle. It also covers basic concepts dealing with non-conscious behaviors and attachment styles.
Part Two digs deeper into attachment theory and attachment styles; exploring all four styles in detail. You'll also learn about the descriptors that make up each style. Part Two addresses the question of "Can I change my attachment style?" and provides advice and practice in working with clients using data from the APT Self-Assessments.
Part Three introduces the Big Five Personality Traits, including the facets that comprise each trait. It makes the case for using self-assessments and illustrates the structure of the APT Self-Assessments. You'll learn ideas for encouraging your clients to complete the self-assessments and you'll have the opportunity for extensive practice in using the data produced by the Personality Traits Self-Assessment. Part Three includes a brief review of what has been covered in Parts One through Three.
Part Four is a brief explanation of how APT Counseling Resources works; including how to become an APT-certified counselor and the benefits for you and your clients of using the APT Self-Assessments. We explain the fee structure for using our self-assessments and how to begin using them with your clients. Part Four concludes with a list of the "next steps" in obtaining APT certification and how to contact us with any questions.
